This Privacy Policy explains how Mindfulness on the Mats LLC ("MOTM," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use mindfulnessonthemats.com (the "Site"), the MOTM member Library, MOTM™ Personal Practice, and other products, programs, content, and services we provide (collectively, the "Services").
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, "personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be associated with an individual, as defined under applicable privacy laws. It does not include information that has been aggregated, anonymized, deidentified, or otherwise excluded from the definition of personal information under applicable law.
Your use of the Services is also subject to our Terms of Service.
Account Information — When you create an MOTM account or member Library account, we may collect your first and last name, email address, and password or other account-authentication information. We use this to create/manage your account, provide access to Services, communicate about your account, and provide support.
School and Business Information — If you purchase or use MOTM through a school/studio/academy/organization, we may collect the school/business name, your role, and other information you voluntarily provide, used to administer school memberships and communicate about your account.
MOTM™ Personal Practice Information — May include voluntarily provided information such as martial art/style, rank/experience level, dojo/gym/academy affiliation, and other profile information used to personalize your experience or downloadable materials. Optional profile information is not required unless necessary for a feature you choose to use.
Personal Practice Journal and Reflections — MOTM™ Personal Practice may include downloadable/printable reflection prompts and journaling materials. When you download or print a Journal and complete it privately, MOTM does not collect, receive, or store what you write. Your private written reflections remain with you unless you independently choose to send or share them with MOTM (e.g. through customer support), in which case we handle that information per this Policy.
Payment and Commercial Information — Product/membership purchased, transaction amount/date, subscription status, purchase history, and billing-related information necessary to administer your account. Payment card information is collected and processed directly by Stripe; MOTM does not store your complete card number on its own servers. We receive transaction information from Stripe necessary to confirm purchases, administer subscriptions, maintain records, and provide Services.
Communications and Customer Support — Information contained in your communications to us, including name, email, message content, and information needed to respond.
Site Analytics and Advertising Tracking — MOTM does not currently use Google Analytics or other behavioral advertising/tracking tools. If added in the future, this Policy will be updated to describe the technologies, information collected, and any privacy choices available.
Cookies and Similar Technologies — The Site/account systems may use cookies necessary to operate Services (sign-in, session maintenance, security preferences, unauthorized-access protection, essential functionality), possibly via third-party service providers. Not currently used for behavioral advertising; future addition would trigger a Policy update and required notices/choices.
Technical and Security Information — Hosting/security/account providers may automatically process limited technical information (IP address, browser/device info, login/auth info, date/time of access, security logs, error/diagnostic info) to maintain Services, authenticate accounts, troubleshoot, detect unauthorized activity, and protect security.
Email Engagement Information — We use Brevo to deliver email. Brevo may process delivery/engagement information (delivered, opened, link-clicked) to understand reach and improve communications.
Stripe (transaction confirmations, payment status, subscription info, billing records), Brevo (email delivery/engagement info), Supabase (account authentication, data storage, related technical functions). May be associated with your MOTM account when necessary to provide, secure, and administer Services.
Providing the Services — create/manage accounts and Library access; provide curriculum/instructor resources; provide MOTM™ Personal Practice; provide Master Class Protocols and purchased materials; provide downloadable resources tied to a purchase/subscription/membership; personalize materials when requested; process purchases/payments/subscriptions; communicate about account/purchases/subscriptions/curriculum access/updates; respond to support requests; provide important Service-related notices.
Operating and Protecting MOTM — maintain/improve Site, Library, Services; diagnose technical problems; prevent fraud/misuse/unauthorized access; protect system security/integrity; maintain business/transaction records; enforce agreements; comply with legal/tax/accounting/regulatory obligations.
Marketing Communications — may use your email (via Brevo or another provider) for onboarding info, educational content, curriculum/program updates, new product/program announcements, promotional communications, and other MOTM-related information. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe method. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop Service-necessary communications (receipts, billing/subscription notices, account notices, security notifications, password/auth communications, curriculum/program-access notifications, material changes to important policies/terms, customer support communications).
Embedded Content and Third-Party Services — Some pages/Services may contain third-party-hosted content (videos, images, forms, embedded features). Interacting with embedded content may expose you to that third party's own cookies/tracking per its own privacy practices; this Policy governs only MOTM's practices, not third parties'. Review third-party privacy policies independently.
We do not disclose personal information except as described here or as otherwise permitted/required by law.
Service Providers — Stripe (payment processing), Brevo (email communications), Supabase (account authentication, data storage, related technical functions). These providers process information per their own contractual/security/privacy obligations. Providers may be added, replaced, or discontinued as Services evolve.
Legal and Safety Requirements — may disclose when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to subpoena/court order/lawful request, protect MOTM's rights/property, detect/prevent fraud or misuse, protect safety/security of MOTM/users/others, or establish/exercise/defend legal claims.
Business Transfers — if MOTM is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be disclosed/transferred as part of it; any successor is responsible for handling information per applicable law and the privacy commitments that applied to it.
Sale of Personal Information — MOTM does not sell personal information, and does not disclose it to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Material changes to this practice would trigger a Policy update and required notices/choices.
Marketing Emails — unsubscribe anytime via the link in the message.
Account Information — you may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain account information, or a copy/export where reasonably available or required by law. Some information may need to be retained even after a deletion request for legal/regulatory compliance, tax/accounting obligations, fraud prevention, payment/transaction records, dispute resolution, agreement enforcement, or security.
Rights Under Applicable Privacy Laws — depending on where you live and whether a particular law applies to MOTM, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about use/disclosure) where required by law. Contact us to make a privacy request; we may need to verify identity first.
Retained only as long as reasonably necessary to provide Services, fulfill the purposes described here, and satisfy legitimate business/legal requirements — considering factors like account/relationship activity status, continued necessity for a requested Service, legal/tax/accounting/regulatory recordkeeping requirements, applicable limitation periods, fraud-prevention/security needs, contractual obligations, and dispute/enforcement needs. Billing/payment/transaction records may be retained longer than general account/profile information when necessary. We do not intend to retain personal information longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction, and rely on third-party providers for payment processing, account authentication, data storage, and email delivery. No system can be guaranteed completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
MOTM purchases, subscriptions, and online accounts must be made or created by an individual 18 years of age or older.
MOTM educational materials, including MOTM™ Personal Practice, may be used by parents, guardians, martial arts instructors, schools, or other responsible adults with children and teenagers.
When MOTM materials are used with a person under 18, the adult purchaser or account holder is responsible for accessing the Services and for determining whether the materials are appropriate for the child or teenager using them.
We do not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to independently create an MOTM account, make a purchase, or enter into a subscription with MOTM. We also do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through an individual child account.
If a parent, guardian, instructor, or other adult provides information about a child in connection with a feature or request, we will use that information only as necessary to provide the requested Service and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
If you believe that a person under 18 has independently provided personal information to MOTM without the involvement of a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult, please contact us so that we can review and appropriately address the information.
The Services may contain links to third-party websites/services. This Privacy Policy applies only to MOTM; we are not responsible for third-party privacy practices and encourage review of their policies before providing personal information to them.
We may update this Policy as MOTM, our technology, or our Services evolve; the Last Updated date will be revised. Material changes may also be noticed by email, through the Site, through the member Library, or another appropriate method. If we plan to use previously-collected personal information in a materially different manner than described when collected, we will provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.
